Glazing Installation and Replacement

 Glazing failure on a high-rise building presents an immediate safety and weatherproofing problem, and conventional access equipment is frequently impractical above the lower levels or on constrained sites. KTM ACCESS removes and replaces glazing panels directly by rope access, using engineered lifting and vacuum handling systems that control the panel without imposing contact stress on the glass edges. Work proceeds without scaffolding or elevated work platforms in the majority of applications, and single-panel replacements are handled with the same rigour as full facade programs. Our glazing scope includes: 

High-rise glazing installation and replacement

Removal and reinstatement of glazing panels at height, engineered for accurate placement without ground-level plant access. 

Single-panel replacement

Isolated replacement of cracked, failed or damaged panels, including on occupied and operational buildings. 

Vacuum suction handling systems

Load-rated glass lifting and suction equipment permitting controlled, damage-free positioning of individual panels. 

Rope access hauling

 Material transfer of glazing units from ground level or storage to the installation point where crane access is unavailable or unwarranted. 

Facade and Cladding Installation

 Facade installation extends well beyond glass to the cladding systems, curtain wall assemblies and external architectural features that define a building's envelope and appearance. KTM ACCESS delivers these works using a combination of crane-assisted rigging for load transfer and rope access for fine positioning, with the same rigging and access team managing the works from initial lift through to sign-off. This integrated approach avoids the coordination gaps that arise when lifting and installation are contracted separately. Our facade installation scope includes: 

Curtain wall systems

  Installation of curtain wall assemblies engineered to defined structural and design specifications. 

Cladding installation and replacement

Placement and reinstatement of cladding panels and facade sections at height, including on constrained or occupied sites. 

Crane and floor crane rigging operations

Coordinated rigging for heavier facade loads, integrated with rope access for final positioning and fixing. 

Louvres, sunshades and architectural features

Installation of external architectural elements requiring precise rigging and placement at height.

 Yes, our rope access technicians can remove and replace individual glazing panels directly via rope access, without needing scaffolding or an EWP in most cases. 


 Not always — smaller panels and facade elements can often be handled via rope access hauling alone, while larger curtain wall sections typically require crane or floor crane assistance. 


 We use specialised vacuum suction handling systems combined with rigged rope access, allowing precise control of the panel without direct contact stress on the glass edges. 


 Yes, our rigging and rope access methods allow installation work to proceed with minimal disruption to building occupants, unlike large-scale crane operations requiring wider exclusion zones.
