What is rope access?

Rope access is a safe, efficient way of working at height using twin-rope systems and certified anchor points. Our technicians ascend, descend and position themselves on your building's facade to carry out cleaning, repairs, inspections and installations — no scaffolding, no cranes, no cherry pickers.

Is rope access cheaper than scaffolding?

In most cases, significantly. Scaffolding can cost more than the actual repair work — plus weeks of setup, permits and street closures. Rope access has minimal setup time, so you're paying for the work, not the access. It's often the difference of thousands of dollars on a single job.

Will the work disrupt our residents or tenants?

Very little. There's no scaffold blocking windows or entries, no heavy machinery, and minimal noise. Most occupants barely notice we're there. We coordinate with your building manager on timing and notify residents before work near windows or balconies.

Are you licensed and insured?

Yes — KTM Access is a fully licensed NSW contractor (Licence 383957C) and every job is backed by $20 million in public liability insurance.

What services do you offer?

Three main streams: height safety (anchor point installation, testing and recertification, audits), remedial and maintenance work (painting, sealing and caulking, concrete repair, leak detection, facade inspections, glazing, signage), and cleaning (rope access window cleaning, pressure washing, graffiti removal, post-construction cleans). We also handle confined space entry and standby rescue.

Our building doesn't have roof anchors. Can you still do the work?

Yes. We can install and certify a compliant height safety system as part of the project, or use temporary rigging solutions where appropriate. If you're not sure what your building has, we can inspect and advise.

How often do roof anchors need to be tested?

Anchor points must be inspected and recertified every 12 months under Australian Standards (AS/NZS 1891 and AS/NZS 5532). If your anchors are out of certification, no contractor should legally work off them — we can test and recertify them, usually in a single visit.

What buildings do you work on?

Everything from residential apartment towers and commercial offices to hotels, industrial sites, government buildings, and energy and utility assets across Sydney. If it's hard to reach, it's what we do.

Do you work with strata and building managers?

All the time — most of our clients are strata managers, building managers and facility managers. We provide detailed quotes, insurance certificates, SWMS and compliance documentation upfront, and we can set up recurring maintenance schedules like quarterly window cleans.

How do I get a quote?

Fill out our quote form or call us on 0412 663 559. A photo of the building and a rough description of the job is enough for us to give you an accurate estimate — for larger projects we'll arrange a free site inspection.

What happens in bad weather?

Safety comes first — we don't work ropes in high winds or storms. If weather delays a job, we reschedule at no cost to you and keep your building manager informed.
